Holly Stampin' Up Undefined Carving

On my to do list is create some cards for a swap I have signed up for with my up-upline. Since no one seemed to get very many Christmas cards swaps at convention she decided to do her own swap with anyone in any of her downlines. I decided to jump on board. I was struggling to decide which stampset to use and my upline said she had seen some wreaths made with the Six Sided Sampler Stampset and coordinating punch. I thought this seemed like a fantastic idea and thought I would give it a shot. Upon reviewing some photos from convention I came across one that looked like I took it from the big screens during a presentation. I CASED this card and made very few changes. If anyone knows who made the wreath card at convention please let me know and I will make sure to give them credit!!!

I wanted more detail on the wreath instead of just 3 red dots to symbolize holly (which is what the CASED card used). I found a small piece of rubber left from my Undefined set I thought I could carve some holly. With how small the holly is it was actually fairly easy to carve and it was another thing I didn't have to trace!!! I love the look of the wreath with my carved holly and I hope everyone enjoys the card when they get the card at the end of September! I hope you are inspired!!!

I will be taking the weekend off from posting but will hopefully have lots of cards to share with you on Monday.

Happy Stamping!!!

Key to my Heart Stamp Carving

I am really starting to get the hang of Stampin' Up!'s Undefined Stamp Carving Kit!!! This time I decided not to trace anything and I am super pleased with how my carving turned out!!!

I thought a Key stamp would be super cute on a card. I would love to say something corny like "You have the Key to my Heart" so I carved a key with the top of the key made out of a heart! I thought it would be even better if I could punch out the heart so I used the small heart punch to get me started. Unfortunately  after carving my stamp I realized the punch is backwards and I won't be able to actually punch out the centre of the key. If I were to do this again, I would have used the small heart framelit as my centre instead. However, I can still punch out a heart shape and put it in the centre to give the centre of the key a different color. I will show you what I mean when I can find more time to get into the craft room to actually create something. For now all I have to share is how my stamp turned out.

Happy Stamping!!!

Simply Sketched Braided Card

Sorry this post is coming so late today. I have been super busy and I ran out of pre-scheduled blog posts yesterday and haven't had a chance to get back on the computer to show you some more inspiration.

I just want to sent a quick thank you to all those who were able to attend my open house! Thank you for coming, I had a great time!!!!

Today I am going to show you a card I created for a swap at convention. It was apart of a Funky Fold Swap I participated in. If you would like to see a video of the technique you can go see Brandy Cox's video here. This braid looks much more complicated than it really is and it adds a great twist to your card which anyone will love.

Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink: Staz On   Stampset: Simply Sketched (Hostess)
Punch: Large Oval, Scallop Oval

Tag It Birthday Card FMS100

It is time for another sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. They are celebrating their 100th sketch and to honor that this week they are doing their first sketch over again. I love this sketch but it took me a while to make the card work. Surprisingly enough I knew which stamp set I wanted to work with right away but I had to play with the paper for a while to get the card the way I wanted it.

I am super pleased with how this card turned out and I can't wait to participate in their next sketch. I am setting a goal for my self, here in front of you all. My goal is to participate in at least every other week of Freshly Made Sketches but ideally I would like to participate weekly. Lets see how this goes...

Before I get to my card I would like to tell you about the stamp set I used. Tag It is Stampin' Up!'s Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set this year. This means you can ake a difference in someone's life if you purchase this set. For every Tag It stamp set Stampin' Up sells they donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. Isn't that fantastic!!! If you would like to help make a difference you can purchase the set in my online store just click the shopping cart on the right side of my blog.

Now onto my card...

Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit Scrapbook Round 2

Welcome back and thank you for joining me. Here are four more pages we will be making in my upcoming class on October 27, 2013 1:00pm, at my house in SE community of New Brighton, Calgary Alberta. The cost is $30.00

A great feature of this book is all the pages (with Crushed Curry Stripes) come out so you can journal about the moment in your photo, or the person in the photo. For the photos you just have to get them developed as wallet sized and they will fit perfectly into your book.

Also, don't forget about my Open House this weekend and my Funky Fold Friday Exploding Kite class first Friday in September.

Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit Scrapbook

When I seen this kit in the Holiday Catalogue I thought, Oh that's nice, but I don't do place settings for Thanksgiving. This kit never made it onto my must have list until convention. At Convention Sarah Douglas did a demonstration on how to make the table settings and then showed us an alternative project we could make with the kit, A Scrapbook!!!!! Who would have ever guessed!!!!

The only thing you have to add to this kit in order to make the scrapbook is adhesive, and the metal rings. You can add the use of a stampset (or you can just use the chalk marker and hand write). I also added two Naturals buttons to one of my pages but it was not necessary.

There is so much in this kit I now have extra designer series paper and twine to make some cards with!!!

Thank you Sarah for your inspiration. I completely CASED a few of her pages and the rest are all my own design. I will share with you 1/3 of the pages today and the other 2/3's over the next two days.

I will be holding a class for this project October 27, 2013 at 1:00pm, at my house in SE community New Brighton, Calgary Alberta. The cost is $30.00

Deadline to register is Thursday October 10, 2013. Payment is required to hold your spot. To register I will accept, Cash, e-mail money transfer or Pay Pal. Contact me to register.

Also, don't forget about my Open House this weekend and my Funky Fold Friday Exploding Kite class.

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit - Lotus Flower

After carving such a detailed stamp I had to do something more simple. I got my latest image to trace from another Google image search. I really want to give credit to the person who created this image but for the life of me I cannot find the image again. If you know where this image came from please let me know and I will post their website here.

Lately I have been drawn to Lotus flowers and wish Stampin' Up had a lotus flower stamp. This stamp took less that 20 minutes to carve and it turned out pretty good. What do you think?
Happy Stamping!

Late Night Stampers Fall 2013 Blog Treasure Hunt has Begun!

Hello Fellow blog hoppers and welcome to the Late Night Stampers Fall Treasure Hunt.

My clue for the blog hop is:
The Heat Tool! 129053
Price: $36.95
This fabulous tool allows you to heat emboss. If you have never heat embossed before you are in for a treat. Once I got my hands on this technique I had to have the heat tool and all embossing powders. The heat tool melts your embossing power on your card and leaves a raised image. In my card below I used a brayer to put versamark on one side of my embossing folder. From there I ran the embossing folder and my cardstock through the big shot. I applied embossing power to the versamark and used my HEAT TOOL to heat the embossing powder.

Cardstock/DSP: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Basic Black
StampSet: Itty Bitty Banners
Tools: Heat Tool, Black Embossing Powder, Versa Mark, Owl Punch (for the hair barrette)
Big Shot: Magnetic Platform, Bitty Banners Framelits, Argyle Embossing Folder

Special Offers:
I am currently creating three very special hand crafted gifts
  • First gift will go to someone who leaves a comment
  • Second gift go to someone who follows my blog (by signing up as a follower)
  • Third gift will go to one of my readers who visits my Stampin Up website and fills out their contact information
As well...
For anyone placing an order through me for a Heat Tool during the month of August or September will receive five cards showing you different ways to heat emboss!!!

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit - Native Art

I have always been facinated with the native culture. I can never get enough of their music and dancing and their art is fantastic. I have also always loved hummingbirds but I have only had the opportunity to see one hummingbird in all my life. In searching for a image to trace I found out Hummingbirds help you to appreciate life and focus on the positive in life and help you get through life's challenges. What a perfect message to send on a card!!!!

I found a fantastic image to trace from allposters.com the art is from Joe Mandur Jr. and I loved it. Here is what I was able to carve. I think it turned out fairly well for my second carved stamp.

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit

I have completely fallen in love with this new product Stampin Up! has come out with!!!

I am one of those people who can barely draw a good stick figure. In order for me to be able to get something I want to carve on paper I have had to trace. I cheat and find a image I like in google image search, take a piece of tissue paper and lightly tape it to my phone. From there I trace the image with a mechanical pencil and then transfer it to the stamp and carve. My stamps have turned out good so far. The first of three I would like to show you is the first stamp I carved, and the only stamp I carved without tracing anything. Over the next two days I will share with you my fully CASED/traced stamps.
