Upcoming Christmas Classes

I think I can finally breath again. I have submitted my final exam and essay for my class. With all the stress from my class I have gotten sick but I am hoping I can recover quickly.

I have a few classes coming up and I would love for you to join me.

All classes will be held in my home in Calgary's SE community of New Brighton. Please Contact me to register and arrange payment by November 24, 2013. I need to make sure I order enough supplies for the class.

If you don't have time to attend the classes but would still like to purchase the cards or gift boxes from me, let me know. I can certainly make the cards up for you.

Also, if you love the class but want to do the class with a group of friends let me know and we can arrange a date for me to do a private class with you and your friends.

FM136 Tea Bag Dispenser

This week on The Friday Mashup the two challenges were:
"Create a project with Baked Brown Sugar, Always Artichoke & Crushed Curry"
"Create a 3-D Project"
or mash it up and do both.

I couldn't participate in both challenges because I didn't have the specific colors needed.

I have been wanting  to create a Tea Bag Dispenser for a long time but never got around to it. My fellow design team member at Friday Mashup, Heidi Baks, created a fantastic tutorial over on Spiltcoaststampers which made this project super easy to re-create.

To create the flower there are four layers of each of the punches I listed below. Poke a hole in the centre of each punched out shape. Wet your flowers a little with the spritzer and then scrunch. Put the brad through the centre and you have your flower!

Stampset: Yippee-Skippee!
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Pool Party, So Saffron, I Am Me Designer Series Paper
Ink: Pool Party, So Saffron, Basic Grey, Real Red
Punches: Blossom, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle
Tools: Spritzer
Accessories: Antique Brads, Basic Grey Cordurory Buttons (retired), Pool Party Bakers Twine (retired), Retired Grosgrain ribbon, retired sale-a-bration ribbon.

FM135 Thanksgiving Turkey

I am not sure what I would do without the Friday Mashup. If it wasn't for them I am not sure if I would be consistent with posting on my blog. For right now I can guarantee you I will have one post, each Friday, for you to view. Hopefully once I finish this course at the U of C things will slow down and I will find myself back in the craft room.

At Friday Mashup this week the challenge was to create a project with a "Game/Woodsy type Animal (Deer, Moose, Turkey, etc)." or create a project using a "Woodgrain Look". It was certainly a challenge at first because I do not have a single stampset retired or current with a Game/Woodsy animal. I went through my pinterest punch art board and found a punch art of a turkey. I loved the Turkey and knew he would be perfect for my card this week.

I am sorry to all my fellow Canadians for the late Thanksgiving card!

To get the woodgrain effect I embossed my Core'dinations paper with the Woodgrain embossing folder and then sanded lightly.

On Monday I will share with you my cheatsheet for making the Turkey.

I hope I will get a chance to make a card this weekend because I want to show you how you can make a flower using the same folding technique as I used for the feathers/tail on the Turkey.

Have a great long weekend and don't forget to remember our fallen soldiers on Monday.
