FM183 Iron Off Embossing & Color Combo

This week Heidi has a fantastic color combo and technique for us. Unfortunately when I created my card I completely forgot about the technique but I was so happy with my card I choose to just do one challenge this week.

Here's your Friday Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project with "Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist & Baked Brown Sugar".
2. Create a project with the "Iron-Off Embossing Technique".  Link to technique HERE.
3. or Mash it Up! and create a "Project using the colors above & the Iron-Off Embossing Technique".

I haven't purchased any DSP from any catalogues this year so my Project Life Kits came to the rescue! I used the remainder of the "DSP" piece to decorate the inside of my card.

I cased my card layout from Jennifer Cotton. You can see her original card here. Thank Jennifer for your inspiration!

Stampset: Good Greetings, Magnificent Maple
Paper: Project Life Seasonal Snapshot, Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink:  Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey
Punches: Scalloped Tag Topper

FM182 Friend Card with Galaxy Technique

When I seen the challenge for this week at the Friday Mashup I didn't think I would be able to pull it off. However, the technique was easier than I thought.

Here's your Friday Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project with the "Galaxy Technique".   Links to technique HERE & HERE.
2. Create a project for "A Friend".

3. or Mash it Up! and create a "Project for a friend using the Galaxy Technique".

I used reinkers with a few drops of water to create my background. I did't want my background to be as dark as the video shows you so I used Basic Grey reindeer. This allowed my stamping to show up perfectly. Looking at my card now I wish I had stamped my polar bear in black but it was too late.

I heat embossed my polar bear and snow. I also added smooch spray to give my card a little extra sparkle.

Thank you Holly for this challenge, I enjoyed being pushed out of my comfort zone!

Stampset: White Christmas
Paper: Whisper White, Water Color Wonder
Ink: Staz On, Versa Mark
Reinkers: Elegant Eggplant, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey
Tools: Heat Tool
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Smooch Spray

FM181 Christmas Tag and Bling

This week at The Friday Mashup Cindy has a fantastic challenge to get us started on our Holiday projects.

To create the stripes for the sock monkey I used the Gorgeous Grunge Stampset.

I paper pieced the Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler on the Sock Monkey. To give the Sock Monkey some extra sparkle I added some Dazzling Details to his hat.

FM180 Sketch and Marble Rolling Technique

Hello and welcome to another week at The Friday Mashup! Lynda has an exciting new sketch and technique mashup for this week.

I have never tried the marble rolling technique but it was lots of fun!

I made a slight change to the technique because I didn't have a reinker for the gold. Instead I inked up my marbles with the ink pad and then rolled the marbles as instructed in the video The Friday Mashup linked to. The sketch was a fantastic starting point for my card. In the end my card doesn't look much like the sketch but I promise you the sketch really did guide my card.

1. Create a project with "the Sketch".
2. Create a project with the "Marble Rolling Technique".  Link to technique HERE.
3. or Mash it Up! and create a "Project using the Marble Rolling Technique & Sketch".

To make the gold stars I simply embossed a piece of very vanilla with gold embossing power and punched out the stars.

Stampset: Wonderous Wreath, Endless Wishes

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Gold Encore
Punches: Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Banner
